Baby Step 7: Light a Fire – Cook off the Grid

As a family we have learned many alternative methods of cooking off the grid. We have a propane grill, charcoal grill, hot smoker / cold smoker,  Dutch oven, fire-ring, Coleman propane camp stove, pit oven, rotisserie, solar oven and solar dehydrator.

I challenged myself to learn and practice each of these methods. Not only to become confident in using them but also to be proficient in preparing delicious meals off the grid. We now prepare at least two meals a week using an off-grid cooking method.
