Planked Tilapia or Whitefish with Lemon
This is an easy, light and flakey fish dinner using grilling planks. It’s soft, sweet, smokey overtone balances nicely with the tangy lemon juice and fresh green parsley.
We rate this favorite outdoor seafood recipe as – “Simply Delicious!”
Ingredients:
2 – 1 lb. Tilapia or Whitefish fillets
Pinch of sea salt and fresh ground black pepper
2 Tablespoons butter
1 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1 lemon cut into wedges
Prep: Soak the grilling plank overnight. Season fish fillets with salt and pepper. Place prepared plank over hot grill, cover and wait until plank begins to smoke. Place fish on the smoldering plank. Cook between 10-15 min or until meat flakes with a fork (internal temp 135 F). Melt butter and generously brush on cooked fillets. Squeeze lemon juice over the planked fish and garnish with fresh chopped parsley. For an impressive presentation serve on the charred plank – caveman-style.
Haha, “caveman-style”!
I have only cooked salmon this way…I’m going to have to try another type of fish.
Planked salmon is yummy! You’ll find Tilapia and Whitefish a bit milder and Catfish sweeter tasting..
